Civil Ceremonies
Look
no further for that perfect venue. Many of our hotels are licensed
to perform civil ceremonies. Your wedding day is the most important
day of your life and we certainly want to ensure you have the most
memorable occasion. You can take your vows, sharing the moment with
your friends and family, and afterwards as they say 'let the celebrations
begin' (all under the same roof).
Firstly
you need to finalise your wedding date, and then decide which
Stop Inn you wish to get married in. One thing to remember is
that it is becoming ever more popular to have a civil wedding
these
days so make sure you book it as soon as you can. Check with
the registrar
what details and documents (e.g. birth certificate) are needed
to give notice of marriage, you will need to make sure you provide
the originals as photocopies are not accepted. You both will
have
to go in person to register and pay the registration fee.
The
notice of marriage is the legal preliminary to your marriage and
must be displayed at the resister office for 15 clear days after
this period is passed your wedding can then take place.
The
standard ceremony, in which you make the legal declaration to one
another, in the presence of your friends and family, will take approximately
15 - 20 minutes including the signing of the register.
By
contacting the Wedding Co-ordinator at your chosen hotel they will
be able to supply you with the details of the Registrar for that
area or visit
here for details on registrar's in England and Wales.
